Comments: | The added entry was in the text which I was reading. It shows up a good number of Google hits, but not so many as the main entry. And, of course, the added entry did not come up on a search. However, in the combined dictionary you have the following:- 日なたぼっこをしている蝶 【?】 basking butterfly; WI4 日なたぼっこをする 【ひなたぼっこをする】 (vi) to bask; laze in the sunshine; take the sun; WI3 You also have "日向(P); 日なた 【ひなた】 (n) sunny place; in the sun; (P)" in the main dictionary, which also includes the relevant part of the added entry. |

Comments: | I won't lose any sleep if it's kept but I'm with Marcus on this one. If every use of a word is accompanied by an explanation of its meaning, it's not a real Japanese word. There are plenty of English language articles that mention 和製英語 terms but you won't find them in an English dictionary unless they're used in English (e.g. salaryman). I think we should apply the same standard here with 英製和語 terms. |

Comments: | 6 years later but I've got to say it's still obvious to me that this shouldn't be an entry. It's demonstrably not a Japanese word -- only an English one. As far as Google can tell us, it was only ever used by English speakers in English in Japan, never in Japanese by Japanese speakers, outside of an extremely limited amount of commenting on said usage by English speakers in Japan. I'm not saying (and wasn't saying) that it couldn't be possible for a reverse 和製英語 (英製和語?) thing to happen where a word minted by foreigners in Japan ends up entering the Japanese language - I'm just saying it clearly didn't happen here. The usage of the word among non-Japanese was merely *discussed* in Japanese. That doesn't mean it was ever *used* in Japanese. |

Comments: | v. common at ramen shops Also seen as 背油 – dicts don’t like it (it’s solid fat, not liquid), and half as common online; marked as [iK] |

Comments: | Yes, Jim is right and I don't think it should be an entry. It would be like having an entry for "n'" in an English dictionary that said "equivalent to the 'no' of 'not'". |

Comments: | Many thanks for that. I shall do some more searching to see if I can come up with anything more. |

Comments: | Try as I might, I can't pin down a suitable entry for りゃ. Sometimes it's for xxxれは; others it's xxxれければ. No ref touches it. |

Comments: | I thought that I may just add the trigger for my search. I was seeking to confirm the meaning of "遊んでりゃ" taken from: 「しばらくあれで遊んでりゃ、おとなしくしてるよ。」" All else is on the site, save "りゃ". |

Comments: | I am, of course, pleased to see this entry included. What I was trying to find was "りゃ" as an add on; and in searching around found various other entries of interest (そうすりゃ and そりゃ), but not just an add on to explain "りゃ" if indeed, it is an add on. Any help? |

Comments: | 試験紙 has broader usage than 'urine test' and i'm sure that 試験紙法 does as well. e.g. JST dictionary has 試験紙法 as "test paper method". eijiro has 尿試験紙法 for the equivalent of "urine dipstick test" |
