Fix definition from “dike/dyke” (parallel to river) to “dam” (across river) (defns as per en:WP).
GG5 gives “a dam; a weir”, and both daijr and koj state 横断 (across) and ダム – this is a structure across a river (or valley) to prevent or regulate flow.

Without going the encyclopedic route here, are there any other expressions available for 願解き in other dictionaries? (At least in Okinawa, perhaps elsewhere) it is used to mean something along the lines of "canceling a request" to the gods (because it has been fulfilled, in which case it is accompanied by expressions of gratitude, or otherwise become irrelevant, in which case a different request may be submitted) - but i can't find a suitable expression for this. In any case, "release from a vow" seems to me too narrow: that would seem to apply only to people, not to gods...

While the merge sort-of makes sense, it probably is a bit aggressive and makes for messy sense restrictions. Probably better to crack it open. I'll set it up that way. Example sentences are for どける only.

I've seen 理由 with わけ as furigana a hundred times, esp. on 
movie posters, printed ads, book titles, etc. It's definitely 
not standard and whenever it's supposed to be read as わけ, 
there's furigana, so it might not be necessary though.

I had started a response to this thread, not noticing this one from Robin (the order being changed.) I think the suggested approach is sound. I'm keen to get the more common nakaguro versions searchable.
I'll approve this and reopen it.

I'm planning to raise an issue about this on GitHub. I'm going to suggest that we copy GG5's approach and have only a single visible reading – *with* nakaguro – for all non-[uk] acronyms. The nakaguro-less forms would be search-only (as would readings that contain variant pronunciations of letters). I've made an edit to show what this would look like on this entry.

There's a problem in that めっちゃ is aligned with 目茶 and 滅茶 (both ateji), and  むっちゃ (if it has kanji at all) would be 無茶 (as with むちゃ). It probably should be merged with 1530670 (無茶/むちゃ).
I'll propose that.

I think this should be merged with めっちゃ. I don't think 
there's any distinction made in usage

めっちゃ is already an entry, and I think they should be separate.
