  Comments:
just to clarify that I added pol based on the 日本国語大辞典
entry which specifically says 「尻(しり)」の丁寧語.
I don't know if it's necessarily right.
おしり itself is not in daijs or daijr. Wiki's entry on 尻 says
"丁寧語では「お尻」または「おけつ」"

Polite? Just because it has お in front? Try Google images.
Reverse translations from many EJs are anything but polite.

yes, i'm happy leaving it just as 'gratin'. google image hits are basically identical. also, グラタン皿 is comfortably (and probably better) translated as 'gratin dish', so i don't see that the addition is necessary. gratin is グラタン and casserole is キャセロール

先発 “first departure from now” (関西弁; 関東弁=今度)

When this kanji was added to the 常用漢字 the 頰 version was used - it had only recently come available via Unicode. 頬 had been around for years before then.
How are we going to handle the 頰 versions, which are still rather rare? I guess we have to make them [rK] and keep them visible.

The references don't distinguish between the various readings as to the meaning. The images are different, but one can't place too much stress on them as it's Google fishing an image out of a page containing a term without any reference to the real association. OK as a broad guide, but not safe to place too much stress on it.

Primarily used for horizontal structure so that wisteria can hang *down*. This is formally a “pergola”, hence fronted.
ja:WP gives 藤棚 as the archetypal Japanese example of a パーゴラ (pergola).
“trellis” is common, though ambiguous (more precisely vertical structure, w/o the vines trailing), and “arbor” is also used, again v. ambiguous (more generally a bunch of trees).

I note that GG5 only has 唐物/とうぶつ, which supports Rene's position. I'm quite comfortable with とうぶつ going first.
My IME (Canna dictionary) does the same, but really that is not an argument for one reading or the other for a specific lexeme like this one.
I see for 唐物屋 Daijirin has both とうぶつや and からものや with quite different meanings.

  Comments:
when I type からもの, my (standard windows) converter turns it
into 唐物 (as one word, pressing space changes both at once)
without any problems, but when I type とうぶつ that's not
recognized as a single word and I get two separate lines
under each kanji (i.e. pressing space changes only one kanji
) and 党物 etc.
Reading 唐 as から isn't that uncommon either (唐揚げ etc.),
so I don't think it's the case that everybody would
automatically assume it's read as とうふつ over からもの.

I was looking up the difference between 軒 and 庇 and it seems that the translation "eaves (of roof)" seems to be incorrect.
軒 is the part of the roof that overhangs the wall (=eaves)
庇 is attached to a wall and overhangs windows and doors, kind of like awning/sunshade except solid

For sense 1, having put in glosses such as clinking/jingling/etc. I can see no point in explaining what they mean in English. The "expl" is explain what the word means when the short gloss does not. I think jingle/jangle/etc. need nothing further.
I can't see sense 2 being other than an example of "clinking" in sense 1. An onomatopoeic term for metal on something hard could be metal-on-metal, metal-on-stone, etc. I don't think we need to be bound by Kojien's literary and historical excursions.
Sense 3 - again the "expl" is simply explaining what the English means. I think we should expect the user to know what coquettish/flirty/flighty mean.
Sorry if I sound grumpy, but I think as far as possible glosses should stand by themselves, and "expl" should only be used when it is really necessary. The entry is very long already.

* Separate off “metal fittings in setta” as separate sense (following koj) – both daijr and koj cite this usage, so seems useful, and distinct from metal jangling against metal (confusing to try to explain both at once)

See discussion at 2713520 次発 – common in Kansai
(only at larger stations though, naturally – more 大阪 than 京都)
The reading is obvious enough from 次発(じはつ) though as the linked page notes, this is mostly just used for display, as 「じじはつは◯◯です」 would be very confusing as an announcement.
No explanation, as sufficiently addressed at 次発
