Comments: | I think ksb is plain wrong, can't recall ever hearing anybody use it in Kansai where I've now spent more than a decade of my life. I've only heard it in anime and dubs for "stereotypical old person talk". Also one or both of the comedians in the duo 千鳥, who both hail from Okayama, use it. Same note could (should?) go on じゃろう |

Says something about spread of JMdict though.). 2 legitimate uses in a sentence are: http://jp.corogaru.jp/society/rising_nation.html http://jp.corogaru.jp/tag/国際関係 …in explaining 新興国, which is a valid word. Comments: | Delete – this is clearly not a commonly used phrase. It’s at best an example sentence, and not terribly good for that, since extraordinarily uncommon. By contrast, GG5 gives 「新たにできた店」 in its entry for 店, which gets over 400,000 hits (「新たにできた店」 would be good for a collocation, but not as a term itself, and we don’t do collocations AFAICT). |
