Comments: | I think ksb is plain wrong, can't recall ever hearing anybody use it in Kansai where I've now spent more than a decade of my life. I've only heard it in anime and dubs for "stereotypical old person talk". Also one or both of the comedians in the duo 千鳥, who both hail from Okayama, use it. Same note could (should?) go on じゃろう |

Comments: | * Expand, split, and elaborate definition – esp. “(young woman) bursting with youth” * Separate pos – don’t see [adj-na] in examples, but do see [adv-to] and [vs] (some other forms presumably possible; I’m being conservative) Basic sense seems to be “bursting” (hence ‘leaping’, also “bursting (with youth)” etc.). Seems closely connected with 跳ねる (jumping, splattering). (Heard on TV ad, featuring group of youthful women.) |

Comments: | Certainly the いらいら+する family dominates, but I wonder if this should perhaps be a case where the noun should dominate the POS ordering and glosses. GG5 leads with noun glosses followed by a ~する batch. As usual 中辞典 just has いらいらする. Daijirin has two sense tagged "(副) スル" and "( 名 )". Interesting that it classes the adverb form as the base for the する. There are 61 examples sentences and ALL are for いらいら+する in various forms. |

Comments: | i think there ~may~ be a difference here: the difference between 'admiration' and 'praise' in english (i.e., the former is a private emotion, the latter is a public action; they're not the same). koj, daijs, gg5, meikyo all support this division; daijr does not (it adds ほめる to the definition of 三嘆). also, a legitimate definition was removed from 三嘆. - so i think there should be two entries: 三嘆;三歎 [さんたん] [1][n,vs] deep admiration [1][n,vs] repeatedly lamenting & 讃嘆;讃歎;賛嘆 [さんたん] [1][n,vs] praise;extolment |

Comments: | * Add idiomatic glosses “germ rice”, “half-milled rice” and “semi-polished rice” – these appear to be how people idiomatically translate haigamai/haiga-mai into English; half-milled seems pretty common (from some searching – used on ChowHound and eGullet, major foodie forums, for instance) * OTOH, “whole rice” (as given in 研究社中) is incorrect (or at least abuse of language), as that means “includes the bran”, which is instead brown rice * Add [fld=food] (this is a processed food item, not a plant part etc.) |

Koj's is simply: "連署。連判。加判。" - Daijr and Koj have 合判/相判/あいはん with glosses of (a) 連帯で押す印 and (b) 合印(あいいん)に同じ I'm not sure there aren't subtleties that are escaping me, but I suspect we can have a single あいはん/ごうはん entry for these, with a couple of restrictions. |

《pun on 育児 and イケメン》 ▶ father who takes an active role in child rearing ▶ father who enjoys child rearing |
6. | A 2022-08-27 00:57:57 Robin Scott <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | I think the line is rather blurred. My instinct was that it's slang because it's a relatively recent coinage, it's a pun, and it's not that widely used (or so I assumed – I'd never heard it before). But I see it's used in hundreds of tweets a day as well as a lot of recent articles so "col" is probably OK. |
