I just want to point out though that the Nikkoku on Yahoo back then was a way more comprehensive edition than the one on Kotobank now, so the fact that a reading/kanji/entry isn't on Kotobank doesn't mean it's wrong. |

Comments: | It's my understanding that X-ids refer to X類 rather than X 科, i.e. members of the 科, rather than the 科 itself. I thought I saw a 科 entry where Rene had removed the "X-id" gloss giving an explanation like that but I couldn't find it looking through entries ending in 科 now, so it might have been a different kind of entry. But if "mustelids" is accepted here, shouldn't ideally each 科 entry have an -"id" gloss as well? |

Comments: | In the context of the text which I was reading, the reference was to stone walling (at the quayside). Google gives a lot of hits. your combined dictionary gives a range of related entries as follows:- 石積み 【いしずみ】 rubble works; RW 石積み 【いしつみ】 (?) ???; RH 石積み 【いしづみ】 (n) masonry work; masonry; rubble-work; stone bond; stone masonry; WI1 石積み 【いしづみ】 (?) ???; RH 石積み 【いしづみ】 masonry; stone masonry; RW 石積み(護岸、ダム、堤) 【いしづみ(ごがん、ダム、つつみ)】 "masonry (revetment, dam, dike)"; RW 石積みダム 【いしづみダム】 masonry dam; RW 石積みの井戸 【いしつみのいど】 stone-lined well; WI1 石積みの砦 【?】 citadel of stone; WI4 石積み形原子炉 【?】 pebble nuclear reactor; WI2 If you accepted this submission, it would make most of the above redundant based upon the a + b concept. I was not sure whether it would have been best to promote one of the above rather than make a new submission, but it seemed good to display all the above items together in order to help justify the inclusion of this submission in the main dictionary. |
