Koj is a bit old-fashioned with okurigana (and many other things). The JEs and more modern kokugos stick very much to 流行/りゅうこう and 流行り/はやり. I'm not sure whether Tyler is suggesting a (re)merge of the entries, or just adding 流行[io] to the はやり entry. I wouldn't object to the latter.

愛しさ
いとしさ
1. [n]
▶ affection

History:
6. D 2012-03-17 23:10:03  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Closing.
5. A* 2012-03-16 04:16:56  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Agreed. The text glosser now says:
愛しさ from 愛しい 【いとしい】 (adj-i) lovely; dear; beloved; darling; (P); ED
Actually I thought that was in all along, but when I checked yesterday it wasn't so I added it. All "adj-i" adjectives will now get that xxxさ match applied.
It's not a problem with the regular lookup.
I'll leave this open for a day or so, then close it off.
4. A* 2012-03-16 03:01:15  Hendrik
  Refs:
At the time of writing, Text Gloosing returns the following:
* 愛し 《verb stem》 愛す 【あいす】 (v5s,vs-c,vt) (See 愛する) to love; (P); ED
To people with only a marginal understanding of Japanese this is likely not helpful... ;-) In case no separate entry is desired, it would be useful if Xさ items were to point to related Xい items )in reference to Jim's comment)...
3. A* 2012-03-15 14:43:45  Rene Malenfant <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
nikkoku has an entry for it, but i'm not sure it's necessary or helpful
2. A* 2012-03-14 23:48:43  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Surely this is just the usual 愛しい -> 愛しさ formation?
(I have just modified WWWJDIC text-glossing to handle the Xい/Xさ forms better.
