Comments: | * Add [fld=food] * Add reading おしたし Saw at supermarket (in kana, as おしたし). This is a corruption of おひたし (from 浸す). It doesn’t appear to be region-specific – saw at supermarket in Kyoto, but as per reference, it’s also found in Tokyo, so I’d conclude it’s just for general ease of pronunciation, as in ばわい. |

Comments: | Saw at supermarket (as おしたし). This is a corruption of おひたし (from 浸す). It doesn’t appear to be region-specific – saw at supermarket in Kyoto, but as per reference, it’s also found in Tokyo, so I’d conclude it’s just for general ease of pronunciation, as in ばわい. |

Comments: | Most refs only give “bean” sense; koj gives “pea” for Fukushima and Niigata. koj also specifies “bean” as specific to 山陰地方 and 愛知県 but this is too narrow (I saw this in Kyoto, at the supermarket (on green beans)) (in fact, same item as おしたし, so 2 new words for the price of 1). Thus, I’d consider “bean” as common variant (non-dialectical), while “pea” sense as dialectical, which I’ve marked in the glosses. |
