In common usage, this expression does not refer to a point or tip but is used as modifier of a place noun, which already carries the meaning of location - thus the meaning of 端 need not be spelled out in English. :-)

When the text item 日本最南端の appears in a text being checked in "Text Glossing", the following partial match will be shown:
"日本最南端の碑 【にほんさいなんたんのひ】 Nihonsainantannohi (p) NA".
Unfortunately this is of no use to anybody not already familiar with the expression 最南端 or 最南 - it would be useful to have just 日本最南端 as something like "Japan's southermost", since it is a kind of fixed expression that is not uncommon (likewise with the other three main compass directions). 最南端 by itself is already handled properly in "Text Glossing"

I see this a lot in emails from amazon.co.jp, and "express delivery" is my own wording for the meaning -- I couldn't find it defined online.  Feel free to change if you have a different sense of it.  Also, お急ぎ便 is used frequently, but I wasn't sure if that merits a separate entry.

I just created an entry for 急ぎ便 and while searching for a meaning for that, I saw 当日お急ぎ便 frequently. I couldn't find it defined anywhere, so I'm not 100% certain that it is "same-day delivery" and not "next-day delivery", so please  update if I've got it wrong.
