  Comments:
this is not a duplicate. both are entry ID 1208920; however, it appears that because an anonymous editor revived a rejected fork and Jim approved on that branch instead of rejecting, this one entry now has two approved branches. (if you search for 株, two entries will show.) this should not be able to happen, so it appears to be a database error. i will raise this on the mailing list so it can be fixed

i will try deleting the other forked branch; however, i suspect that it will delete the entire entry and it will need to be restored.

if it was you who revived the rejected branch, please do not do so again. edit off of the approved branches that represent the current entries only.

It's plainly a mess, but it seems that the lupus is in or out depending on which way the wind blows. I wondered about "Canis lupus familiaris or Canis familiaris", but having parentheses is simpler. Rene's rules does do say "Whenever possible", but I think this is a good one to bend a bit.

I cannot work out how to add the radical in the shape of normal usage, but I thought that it ought to be included in the same way as, for example, is shown for the normal usage of the "roof" radical:-

ウ冠 【ウかんむり】 (n) (宀) (See 字・じ .1) "roof" kanji radical at top (radical 40)

The radical is, of course, shown in your kanji look up based on radicals, but I cannot copy the one for grass.

I'm going to reopen this. There's a big difference between being a 1) nobleman - a person part of the nobility who in most cases held
little power, and 2) being a "powerful Japanese feudal lord" who "ruled most of Japan from their vast, hereditary land holdings" (enwiki).
The meaning is different enough to qualify splitting in both Japanese and English. If the two meanings in English look too similar, that
can be handled by making them more different

This isn't some obscure little historical issue but the word is used with both meanings today. If somebody looked up the use of "tonosama"
in hyakunin isshu decks (for one example of contemporary use of the word in the Heian sense meaning) and walked away with the
understanding that the "tonosama" cards of those decks depict "powerful feudal lords", then we've done them a disservice.

I'm pretty sure it's the name/company, rather than the word,
that appears in the news. The name also seems to be more

None of my 漢和s have みずたまり as a reading of 潴 or 瀦; they have it as the *meaning*. I think that kanjidic kun reading is wrong, and I have removed it.
I don't think 瀦 should be added to the existing 水溜まり entry.

it has this meaning, but i see no support for this reading in any of my sources. (only read as ちょ). however, kanjidic does have it with this reading. if it really has this reading, it should be merged into the existing みずたまり
