I'm glad Johan raised that. I was going to delete it but now I think it should stay.

Not really needed I think. We usually do not include etymological information.
But, on the other hand, some people erroneously believe that ありがとう is derived from Portuguese obrigado.

Is the etymology note needed? It might confuse people in what's an entry for a very basic word.

i'm inclined to leave it this way.  kokugos have 卓袱 for sense 3, but 志っぽく definitely turns up more relevant google image hits for that sense.

I think 志っぽく should be a separate entry. I suspect it's a totally different thing that happens to be pronounced the same. Googling for "卓袱" + "志っぽく" gets a handful of pages which are all asking what's the difference between them, or explanations that one is a Nagasaki cuisine and the other a Kansai dish.

is there any evidence for this actually being used in japanese with this meaning?
