Comments: | On reflection, I agree it's probably better to clean up the indexing of the examples for 置く・おく. |
|
12. | A* 2022-11-08 00:31:47 Robin Scott <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | I still don't think it's needed. As an auxiliary verb, おく can be used with all sorts of verbs. する is just one example. If we have this, we'd need to add the other auxiliary verb senses as well. Daijs has 2, GG5 has 3, Daijr has 5. |

|
Comments: | I take the point about the に. I think it's worth mentioning, though. Maybe this works. The original is indexed in 40 sentences. I'll reindex to this version if the edit is accepted. |

Comments: | I don't think this should be an entry. The pattern is AをBにしておく. "にしておく" itself is not an expression. The に is a particle but this entry gives the impression that it's part of the verb. |

Comments: | I'm finding this one very tough. The decision here also affects 2/ツー, 3/スリー, etc. In theory ワン could be added to the 一 entry as a reading of "1". I tried it out to see if it wasn't too messy, and find that we can't restrict the reading as "1" isn't a kanji. My inclination is to keep them apart, cross-reference them, and add a note that "1" can be read ワン. I'll do that and we can see if it looks OK. |

Comments: | Yes, a couple of other Japanese linguistics references call it that. My earlier "???" was an attempt to elicit a more meaningful submission than a single URL of a Wikipedia page. The expectation is that submissions include a proposed amendment or at least a useful comment on what might/could/should be added or changed. |

Comments: | OK, I am accepting that the arrival of 杮 as part of Unicode has meant that it is taking over from 柿 as the kanji with which to write こけら. The 2007 Google n-grams have 柿葺/柿葺き much more common than 杮葺/杮葺き, but current counting in Google seems to show that the latter is catching up. |

I think, むっくり is slow and round, and so think it corresponds to original meaning of やおら." I think it's best to have them in separate senses with a note. |

Comments: | japanese wikipedia has images there to show the difference between the two. english wikipedia says = The gambrel roof style, commonly seen in barns in North America, is a close cousin of the mansard. Both mansard and gambrel roofs fall under the general classification of "curb roofs" (a pitched roof that slopes away from the ridge in two successive planes).[7] However, the mansard is a curb hip roof, with slopes on all sides of the building, and the gambrel is a curb gable roof, with slopes on only two sides. = |
