Refs: | daijs has 2 senses, but its sense two is "2 不良少年少女。また、やくざなどの下っ端。" I think it's best to separate that into two because when referring to a small-time yakuza, they don't necessarily have to be young. |

Comments: | my kanwa jiten. e.g. for this one it has what you see above (in a more readable format, obviously). i think [oK] is largely a judgment call, and i generally don't call kanji "obsolete" unless they're actually 旧字, because in that case the kanji are obsolete by definition. |

Comments: | It's not "iK", because that tag is intended for terms where an incorrect kanji is used, but the usage is common enough to record it. An example is writing お買い徳 instead of お買い得. Whether 咒い should have "oK" is a hard call. I'd lean towards not having it as it's a rare itaiji rather than an old/obsolete form. I'm not too fussed either way. |
|
7. | A* 2016-12-04 13:37:00 Johan Råde <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | Just saw Rene's comment under 呪い(のろい). Also note that Kangxi has 呪 but not 咒 (see Wiktionary for instance), so 呪 is the original form and 咒 is a variant. Not sure what the best way to handle this is, but I lean towards [oK]. |

Comments: | From these dictionaries that I can access online, it seems like 焼く is only intransitive when it is the 文語 form of 焼ける. Should a mention that 焼く is 焼ける in 文語 be included under this entry? Rearranged/split senses based on the order in 大辞泉・大辞林 (because I heard they are ordered by frequency of usage). In particular, I thought the senses "burning something up" and "burning cd" shouldn't be lumped together. For "restricted to {kanji}", I'm afraid I don't know how to add it. 灼く and 燬く are not mentioned in the dictionaries above at all. 焚く is only listed with たく reading. I *do* see やく kunyomi for all 3, but that's all I have. Also, I'm afraid my translations might not be that great. My apologies. It's just that I felt compelled to fix the transitive/intransitive, and I just thought of adding some information to the entry while I'm at it. |

Comments: | This is (exp,v5m) right ? I wish we had a way to manage together 水温む, 水が温む, 水の温む and 水温み. Maybe with 水が温む as the headword, and then a separate sense for each form, the form being in a kind of restriction that would be searched by search engines, and would generate a specific line in Edict. In fact, it would be exactly as if alternate forms would be in the headwords, except they wouldn't (so we wouldn't have to manage restrictions between kanji and readings) .. Just some thoughts ^^; |

Comments: | Looking at the adj-f definition "adj-f noun or verb acting prenominally" I think the earlier PoS was more accurate. There are 71 actual Google hits for "胸おどった", and and estimated 18,500 for "胸おどる" which makes me think that the prenominal use is predominate and it deserves (at the least) a sense of its own. This is something that should probably be taken up in one of the jmdict Yahoo groups if you want it discussed in detail. |

Comments: | This is from gg5. Daij does not link it directly to すまない, but to 申し訳ない. Koj does list あいすむ as a mere formal way of saying すむ。 So according to koj, it would be ok to copy the すまない gloss. As for daijirin, there's probably not a huge difference between すまない and もうしわけない. I do wonder why they don't make the link between the two. So, yes copying the すまない gloss should be ok. I wish we had some more references. |

Comments: | This? This item is popular for Mouse Freshening like us of international famous brand and delicious flavor. It is in the top-pick from shelf at world class department stores in Bangkok Thailand. You may not find some of this item at your local store due to its limited flavor only from Thailand. A friend of mine from other countries have bought huge lots back to their home. It's RARE. Do not miss it! I have my favorite Mouse Freshening in my store. Please check it out from my store for more products saving your shipping cost. |
