| Comments: | this one ended up in the examples corpus... and, to be honest, i question the usefulness of including higher-level taxa (other than the obviously important ones---e.g., the ones that you're likely to find in an english, japanese or other dictionary) in edict. species names are useful; genera and up not so much. unlike 'english' species names, which come from latin, most native japanese genus names are pretty obvious. if インドシュモクザメ is an entry, then there's no real need to include インドシュモクザメ属. in the relevant japanese scientific literature they'd almost certainly attach the latin genus name anyway |
