kayak
 a. The canoe of the Greenlanders and other Eskimo, made of a framework of
light wood covered with sealskins sewn together; the top has an opening in
the middle to admit the single kayaker, who laces the covering round him to
prevent the entrance of water.
 b. Any canoe developed from the Eskimo kayak, used for touring or sport.

a: an Eskimo canoe made of a frame covered with skins except for a small
opening in the center and propelled by a double-bladed paddle

小学館 uses the term "lumber." In a plain English dictionary, the meaning of "lumber" reflects your original translation. Plus, the word "lumber" has a good feel about it, for example:-
He was a big guy. He came lumbering down the High Street. People seemed to instinctively step out of his way. He came like a lion on the prowl.
I would also suggest that "lumbering" is included in the following entry:-
のしのしと歩く 【のしのしとあるく】 (exp,v5k,vi) to walk heavily and clumsily.
However, I shall not make that alteration, just in case you don't want to include "lumber" in the main headword above.

oceandictionary has it as "Bodianus luteopunctatus", which is a synonym of B. trilineatus, but every other source has it as B. leucostictus and/or B. rubrisos, which has already got an entry. suggest removing it. it should probably be its own entry anyway, seeing as the two headwords are in fact completely different words
