Refs: | daijr: 住む所。住まい。住居。現代では好ましくないものの住んでいる所をいうことが多い。「犯人の―を捜す」「鬼の―」 棲み家 13,043 棲処 2,708 |
|
Comments: | The word itself often has negative connotations, regardless of what kanji are used. Daijs and smk have two senses. 棲家 doesn't have negative connotations (or refer to animals) in 終の棲家. I think the 栖 count is mostly false positives. 住家 is usually じゅうか. Only daijs and nikk have 住家 for すみか. I think じゅうか should be a separate entry. |

Comments: | To the best of my current understanding, the Hawaiian hogfish was once considered a subspecies of Bodianus bilunulatus, which is why the Japanese name is the same for both species. Suggest splitting this into two entries based on current thinking being they are two different species with tary and saddleback being one entry, and Hawaiian being the other. |

Comments: | ヒレグロベラ is incorrect. actually refers to 'Bodianus loxozonus', the "blackfin hogfish". (the confusion likely arose from the fact that the names B. hirsutus and B. macrourus were also formerly misapplied to that species too). we already have an entry for ヒレグロベラ, so removing it from here |
