capture the common usage quite well... :-)
And the 用例 cited by Scott shows why someone labeled it "adv": in 上達が不思
議なほど早い  (analogously, 上達が不思議なくらい早い) these expressions 
_function_ as adverbs (we should remember that grammarians may 
distinguish between "word class" and "function"- there are many expressions 
that are not, according to their class, adjectives or adverbs but that function 
as such in certain contexts)

This is 不思議＋な＋くらい. It's the same as 不思議なほど and it means "to point of being mysterious; to the extent of being strange" E.g.　上達が不思議なほど早い Ｐrogress will be surprisingly fast
