Comments: | I don't think this is ever actually written as 今日わ (outside of Nikk) and that the high ngrams number is just from misparsing. I suggest merging this with こんにちは (as nokanji). 今日わ could also be added to that entry as a sK. |

Comments: | This entry is a "P" classification. I did not think that the common usage would accommodate the deviation in the existing meaning. It seems to me that either the entry would require "similar" in front of "pattern", or the "similar" in front of "shape" and "type" should be deleted. Based upon my own dictionaries, the amendment which I have made is the normal meaning, but maybe there is some justification for the inclusion of "similar". The sample sentence also supports the amendment because the qualification to the entry word is given by "各種". As I would see it, in a literal sense, it means "shapes of a character belonging to every kind" as opposed to "similar shapes of a character belonging to every kind". See sample sentence as below:- "各種の性格類型が概略図の形で図1に示されている。 The different character typologies are represented schematically in figure one" Should my amendment not be correct, it would put an interesting slant on the text which I was reading! [PS. I don't why the following caution came up on the submission, but perhaps it picked up something to do with a similar reading:- Caution: The following existing entries contain kanji or readings that exist in your proposed entry. Before submitting your entry, please make sure that it is not a duplicate of, or should not be an amendment to, one of these entries. 1555970 累計 【 るいけい 】 cumulative total; accumulated total; total up to now] |

Comments: | There are over 2k Google hits. I was actually looking for "譬語 [ひご]". On the other similar-type entries, both "例" and "譬" are included in the same entry, see for example:- "例え(P); 譬え 【たとえ】 (n) example; simile; metaphor; allegory; parable" Should you decide to promote the above entry, then maybe you would consider including the alternative kanji [譬] as well in the entry. You may also like to delete entries like the following, which entries seem to be, or would be if the above were promoted, clearly covered in main entries:- 例語 【れいご】 a word for example; WI 譬 【たと】 (?) ???; RH 譬【たとえ】 (?) ???; RH 譬 【ひ】 (?) ???; RH [P.S. Once again I am seeing a caution. Perhaps I am doing something odd. Anyway, the caution is as follows:- Caution: The following existing entries contain kanji or readings that exist in your proposed entry. Before submitting your entry, please make sure that it is not a duplicate of, or should not be an amendment to, one of these entries. 1556950 冷語 【 れいご 】 hard words Caution: One or more senses you gave do not have any PoS (Part-of-Speech, for example [n], [v5k], etc.) tags. Note that PoS tags must be specified on each sense explicitly -- they do not carry over from the preceeding sense.] |
