Comments: | We have 5 "misspelling" entries (G n-grams above). If ろにん goes, I think ロマンジ and 願わくわ can too, but probably こんにちわ and こんばんわ should stay as they get a lot of slang usage in Japan. On reflection I have no real problem with ろにん going; it's probably reached its use-by date. |

Comments: | I'd be surprised if any of those instances of ろにん refer to 浪人. I can't find any evidence that this reading is used. I still think it's unnecessary and misleading to include misspellings that are only made by non-native speakers. Aligning. |

Comments: | This sense isn't in the kokugos but it's very common (also used in the example sentence displayed on WWWJDIC). I've changed my mind about the note I wrote; it wasn't clear. Probably better to have no note at all and instead use a different PoS tag. We "aux" on some similar entries. How this PoS should be used is still an open discussion on the mailing list, but I'll go with it for now. |

Comments: | I think having "if it is not ..." on sense 1 is somewhat confusing. I understand the reasoning for doing it (having read the discussion below), but semantically, it belongs with the other sense. I think it would be better to ignore the 無い/ない distinction, and instead generalise the sense 2 glosses so that they cover both verb and adjective use. |

Comments: | Searched twitter, all forms represented with photos. I don't know by what logic one would order ほおそめる and ほほそめる. Clearly "ほお" is the "modern" form, maybe the whole expression is a little dated though? I would be cautious of ordering differently between 頬を染める and 頬染める if there isn't some very compelling reason... If anything ほほ seems more prevalant when spelled out, but perhaps that's because it is the exception to the rule, and 頬染める would usually be read ほお. |

Comments: | I'd like to suggest splitting the senses according to the uses of に, so that each sense has a different meaning. "Anyone" can appear in positive sentences so I don't think a positive/negative split is the way to go. For this proposed split to work, we'd need example sentences indexed for each sense, but I think this approach is ultimately clearer. I should note that even with this split, a single sense may contain multiple meanings of に. |

Comments: | This is (exp,v5m) right ? I wish we had a way to manage together 水温む, 水が温む, 水の温む and 水温み. Maybe with 水が温む as the headword, and then a separate sense for each form, the form being in a kind of restriction that would be searched by search engines, and would generate a specific line in Edict. In fact, it would be exactly as if alternate forms would be in the headwords, except they wouldn't (so we wouldn't have to manage restrictions between kanji and readings) .. Just some thoughts ^^; |

Comments: | Many thanks for your comment on "九尺二間". Does that mean that the above entry should also have other readings and other references; and perhaps a cross-reference or two? We can read "二間" as being two x 1.818m [にけん?] or even as a part of the hand structure [じかん(手の甲側)] I have not tried to modify the above to accommodate these points because the above does have its special meaning, but I think that it would help to have some additional references so the novice is not left believing that what looks like a counter is only to be read as "ふたま". |

Comments: | I've previously suggested on the mailing list that expl glosses should be "wordier replacements" that can work in place for the original gloss - though there wasn't much (any?) response to this suggestion. In this case, I guess that means an expl here would read something like "Japan should forget about Asia and align itself in the West". Again, if other editors thought this was a good idea... |

I don't think we need the unabbreviated form. It gets fewer than 200 googits and it's only used to explain what the letters stand for. |

Comments: | It would need to be a separate entry as it's not 形容動詞. But I don't think it's worth adding. It's only used in a small number of words, and we have the common ones as entries (e.g. にこやか, 和毛). Only meikyo has やわ as a noun. I think we can drop "n". Only koj and nikk have 和 for やわ. My IME doesn't even suggest it. I think rK is appropriate. |
