There are some occasions when we disregard the 2/3 rule and make a split anyway. Those cases occur e.g. when there's a difference in language source or when a merger would prevent us from accurately applying metadata tags like [rK], [uk], and [ateji].
I don't think this is one of those exceptional occasions. |

the weblio page says "ねこしゅ" is wrong but also that most people would probably never connect "びょうしゅ" to "猫種" and i agree
i think "ねこしゅ" is probably more "correct" in this sense |
