      It's only "every other" when the number is 1. I'm not sure it's a good gloss.
      It's difficult to explain the meaning without examples.

      But it's only half correct now?
      15分おき does mean every 15 minutes, but
      一日おき means every two days and
      3軒置き means every four buildings
