is there a better reference? kotobank is nearly worthless now that they don't show which readings/headwords correspond to which entries. and kojien has always been a weird mix of kokugo and kanwa when it comes to single-kanji entries

eijiro and 斎藤和英大辞典 translate "地方長官" as "provincial governor", but I'm not sure if the "provincial" part is right |
