Comments: | You don't normally see 来 with foreign locations because Japanese people would usually be *going* to those places, not "coming" (来る). You'd say 訪米, 渡米, etc. But I'm interested to see the n-gram counts as well. |

Comments: | I'd like to sit on this until the ngrams are back. We do have entries like 来京; although it's probably a kanwa matter, I wonder about adding a "coming to; arriving in" sense to our 来/らい entry. |

Comments: | I don't think we need this. I know there's a large 日系 population in Brazil, but this appears to be pretty obscure. We don't have 来米, 来英, 来仏, etc. and I suspect several of them are more common than 来伯. |
