Comments: | Well, they're harmless and given that they occur fairly often I think they're useful to confirm that an expression is recognized and in use. I've often put together what I thought was a usable phrase/clause/whatever in Japanese or French and been told: "well, you *could* possibly say that but we're more likely to say ....". It's good to be able to check the pattern. I'm inclined to keep this and the others. |
