"(e.g. in history)" seems very confusing to me. I get where it's from looking at GG5 歴史にイフはありえない and daijr 「歴史に―はない」 but I don't think this wording works. The jump from "there are no what-ifs in history" (which doesn't even appear to be an established expression in English?" to "(an) if (e.g. in history)" is too wide. |
