英語ではstapleと表記し、かすがいやU字釘、ステープラーの針を意味します。 |

Some of the images for ステープル show the electric wiring clips, for example
http://ds.esco-net.com/out/DispDetail.do?volumeName=00003&itemID=t000100034229
Maybe best to merge, and have the electric wiring sense as "usually ステップル". |

Google images do indeed show this term as the clip for
attaching wiring, and I don't know of it being called a staple
in English. However Daijrin has this as ステープル, although
the images for that word primarily show the Hotchkiss variety.
We could (a) have two entries, effectively ignoring Daijirin,
or (b) combine them with 2 (or 3) senses and the electrical
sense limited to ステップル. Suggestions? |

In Japanese, a "ステップル" is a fixture which attaches
electrical cables to wooden building materials, so it's
debatable whether to include the general word "staple" as
a translation for this. The normal "staples" used to
attach pieces of paper together are not called by this
name. |
