Just a comment. When there is a matching entry in another language dictionary it gets added to JMdict "on-the-fly". I noticed this one matched with Wadoku's "/(n) Operationsfeld/eröffnetes (n) Operationsgebiet/(m) Operationssitus/(m) Situs/".  (The "(n)", etc. indicates the gender of nouns.)

1) 術野(読み:じゅつや、英語:operating field, operative field)とは、手術を行っている目で見える部分のことである。

2) 手術の時に、術野(手術をする場所)以外を滅菌した布で覆ってしまいます。
