“pudding” is an alternative translation, and feels a bit
more idiomatic, I think because this is creamy.
(I tend to think “milk pudding, fruit jelly”.)
Also, I now understand the トウ katakana spelling (instead
of the トー that I’d expect) – it’s representing a diphthong
dòu (realized while researching 東坡肉).
(I don’t think this distinction is respected much in speech,
but I haven’t heard it enough.) |

Also seen as 豆乳花 トールーファ (20,000 hits) …but that’s mostly
a brand name or a misspelling (as it’s made with 豆乳). |
