| Comments: | Extraordinarily common phrase – you hear it all the time on TV, and it’s v. often used with kids (classic 掛け声). * I hear it’s ultimately from 一斉, but etymology is unclear (see link), and dicts don’t give any etymology (いっせいの may be a blend of 一斉 and せえの) * As this is informal, and the spelling is weird, it comes in various forms, so I’ve given several (first heard from host family, who stated connection to 一斉, just heard on TV commercial where two people open cans of beer together) |
