  Comments:
I don't think it's really archaic. It's obviously an old 
word (daijs: 名義抄), but it seems to be currently used at 
least as widely as many other non-archaic words in this 
dictionary. 

I think the lit was helpful, and I don't see why it'd be a 
problem to apply it to words that aren't expressions when it 
helps to clarify the meaning/nuance of a word?
