Ref has "an eccentric [a strange, a spacey] girl; Little Miss Spacey." I think "eccentric girl" would be a good gloss. "slightly mysterious or hard-to-understand person" is really a longer way of saying that. Both refs state it is a woman. The fact that it sometimes used to apply to a male doesn't really change the base meaning. |
