Common on ticket gates and the like, and seems common in engineering.

I believe the reading is correct, or at least common; it’s listed in some of the other dicts to search, though in principle it could also be なげいれぐち (投げ入れ) and 投げ入れ口 does get some hits (inc. 英辞郎).

Interestingly, 大辞林 (銭箱 ぜにばこ entry) includes a picture with this term for the top inlet and 取り出し口 for the outlet (sorry for messed up reading for 券取出口 and obnoxious comment there).
