Well-known phrase, just heard it this evening.
Dictionary definition is as I’ve written (*unexpected* good in what *others* have left behind).
Sometimes translated as “saving the best for last” or “last but not least”, these are rather loose, though “last but not least” captures some of the feel, so I’ve included it as a [fig] translation. |
