The entire definition in daijisen is 2 「風樹の嘆」に同じ。
This is not consistent across all dictionaries, so I went with the "particularly" option.
But, given the daijisen entry, I think the derivation is probably from 風樹の嘆 backwards to 風樹, rather than the other way around (as it appears before this edit). I think the swaying trees are tied up in some sense of melancholy or regret. |
