~族 entries are usually group/mass nouns (family/clan) or explicitly plural. But we are inconsistent. I'm going to suggest edits on a few others.
The Japanese wikipedia page also says "China". The only 5 news articles that come up are all on China. Specifying "China" seems particularly important, as it doesn't seem this is something one would generally use to describe Japanese people in similar situations. |
