the daij definitions are very proverb-y:
1 大事をなすには、小事にも気をつけ油断してはならない。
2 大事をなそうとするときは、小事にかまってはいられない。
①大事を行う前は、ささいな事にはかまわない方がよい。
②大事を行う前には、ささいな事にも慎重に対処しなければならな
い。
but in the ei-wa's the glosses are more noun-y
