By "refs silent" I meant on the source. リーダーズ+プラス has horde = ホルド. The "黄金のオルド" is interesting, and gets quite a lot of hits. The English "horde" cam from Turkish "ordu", and it probably headed into Mongolian too. |

Searching for ホルド horde yields some hits, mostly related to translations. Wikipedia has this for the Golden Horde:
英語で Golden Horde と言い、その日本語訳を黄金のオルドあるいは金帳汗国という。
So, オルド would seem like the proper term. |

My refs are silent on it. The Kagaku jiten has it as "hold" in several entries: ホルドビム, ホルド回路, etc. Btter add a second sense. |

I don't have a suggestion but a request to check the language
of origin. This is defaulting to English but it doesn't sound
anything like English "horde". I cannot find a reference about
it on the web. |
