ルミナス does too, but the JWiki page distinguishes. To me they are different things, although in most WP packages selecting "I" just gets you the oblique version of the current font, even if it's a sans serif one (which can't really be called italics.)
I'll leave this open and some other editor can decide.

I ask because my desktop chat app has this term as a direct translation of 'italic'. gg5 might not be wrong after all.
