yourei: to release his anger(or whatever...) dedicated himself to sword training(i.e. physical activity):
その鬱憤を晴らすかのように、ナシアスは一心に剣の稽古に撃ち込んだ

venting the day's frustrations by punching holes in the walls:
熊田はアパートの壁を破壊することで、一日の鬱憤を晴らした。
  Comments:
晴らす seemed like it should be more positive than the gloss suggested, something like this:

効果的に鬱憤を晴らす、6つの手段 <-- google translate: "6 ways to effectively release your frustration"
(answer: yell out loud, kick, write, exercise, talking, making beautiful things)

Well, it is, but it isn't always. Maybe subtle, but the specific combination "to vent one's anger" looks to me like "unleashing one's rage upon", vs. the combinations I've given. ("release" softens "anger", "vent" pairs with the weaker "frustration").

Certainly yourei examples are a mix. Sometimes yelling into the air. Sometimes just sharing complaints with someone for an hour. Sometimes punching walls. Sometimes jogging, or revving the engine in the car. Or skiing. Or dedicating oneself to mastering the sword.

I'm guessing you won't want more than one of:
"to blow off (some) steam"
"to let off (some) steam"
so I picked the one that seemed less aggressive, since this *can* seen has healthy (a la the lifehacker article).

tatoeba sentence is already "get drunk cut loose and... blow off the tension of daily frustration"
