  Comments:
In this case, it's in the refs, but I don't think we should usually hide expected orthographical variants, even if they're not in the refs. For any animal name, we can expect usage in hiragana/katakana. For doubled kanji, we expect -々 forms. For 御-, we expect お-/ご-. So on and so forth.
