is "pancake thinner than okonomiyaki" really right? you eat it partially uncooked, essentially? it never really turns into anything 
you could correctly call "cake"... I see it's often described as "pan-fried batter" online

中辞典: 	a soft savory pancake.
  Comments: 
I'd call it a pancake too. I much prefer the earlier "savoury pancake with various fillings, thinner than okonomiyaki". (They were common when I was living in 荒川区. Very much 下町 fare.)
