Refs: | Probably any J-J dictionary that has an entry for it. I personally checked 大辞林, 新明解, 大辞泉, 明鏡, and 広辞苑. |

Comments: | The existing definition seems to be a translation of "言語に絶する" that was mistakenly applied to 絶する alone. The new definitions are only suggestions since I haven't seen this word enough to get a sense for its usage (especially in the second sense) yet. It seems to only be listed as intransitive in most dictionaries that include that information, but 明鏡 has it as 自他サ変 and gives "音信が絶する" as a usage example. |
