| Comments: | I think that gg5 got this one wrong. It was a personal tax (人頭税) but payable in kind. Not a tax on products. Wiki explains that silk was the preferred mode of payment but that 34 other products, as well as money were also accepted. No mention of Visa or Mastercard. |
