The spelling choice is highly politically charged issue.
For now, government official position is to keep use 障害者.
I think dictionary should site widely used alternative. It
seems in actual life, 障がい者 is more widely used than
others if not as wide as 障害者 which is chosen by government
for now.
This 障がい者 is normally deprecated spelling style of
kannji-hiragara mix. It is widely used as a stop gap
measure by many entities such as Sony since 碍 and 礙 are
not 常用漢字 and there are vocal opposition to 障害者. |
