| Comments: | I have referred this entry to some Japanese friends. Summary:「品が良い」has nothing to do with quality or expense...it is about taste, and it is close to 'refinement.' Hence, the translation should not refer to 'quality.' It should suggest taste. I suggest 'tasteful' or (in some contexts) 'genteel.' |
