Comments: | I don't think a note is needed here. The kokugos have these meanings as one sense. |

Comments: | Other entries seem to use note="orig. meaning" with a space. Updating for consistency. |

Refs: | Koj, Daijr (lead with the 目のあたり sense), Gg5, etc. Ngrams. |
|
Comments: | The usual practice is to put the surface forms in order of "commonness". See http://www.edrdg.org/wiki/index.php/Editorial_policy#Kanji.2FSpecial-Character_Forms We don't usually have a comment on which are the really common ones, or we'd have far too many such comments (almost invariably the first one or two dominate). I and other editors have access to counts drawn from the Google n-gram corpus (sorry I can't make access public). For this entry the counts are: 目元 619563 目もと 151255 目許 3057 眼元 1688 眼許 89 |

Refs: | デジタル大辞泉 shows 眼元 in its examples, even though very rare. http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/jn2/127732/m0u/ Japanese people in general agree 目元 and 目もと are the most used forms, with 目許 being encountered mainly in novels when people is wearing something around their eyes. detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1454767124 Google hits seems to confirm. |
|
Comments: | I felt better making clear that the intended forms are "目元" and "目もと". I hope I was not wrong using a note for this goal. |
