daijs glosses for 栄養物 and 滋養物 are clearly the same(apart from 栄養素 vs 滋養分). But the few reverso entries for 滋養物 gloss it as "nourishment" (which is agnostic to food or drink).
They are both explicitly not limited to food by daijs(飲食物). daijs says "high in nutrients" but this doesn't appear in eijiro for any translations I've seen. Maybe "nourishment" carries this nuance well enough.
If I think this is a bit [dated], that would be consistent with thinking "nourishment" is a bit dated. I need some other opinions at this point. Maybe "nourishment" does belong at the xref. Maybe some xref terms belong here. |
