Comments: | The original definition of "scales" was rather vague, as taijuukei will usually be defined as a scale, (body)weight scale, bathroom scale, etc. and "hakari" is probably better suited to the more general term "weight scale" or "scales of measurement" as is commonly used in engineering. "Scales" might also refer to the thin, ooblong structures comprising the dermal or epidermal tissues of reptiles and such creatures. |
