Comments: | Every dictionary I can find uses 人の好意を無にする as the example and the 5 examples in the above link are in similar lines. Maybe these are not the best glosses available? |

Comments: | I agree that the current sense is supported by several sources, but this usage it's different from the 心を無にする where "無に する" clearly doesn't mean "to waste" (e.g. daijs: 価値・意義を 失わせる。むだにする。). 心を無にする doesn't mean "to waste one's heart". "頭を無にする" is a similar (not as common) construct |

Comments: | Afaict, 心を無にする means something like "to brush away idle thoughts". It doesn't contradict this entry, which is supported by several references. |
