i think i agree with Robin.  unless there is a nuance of 'inappropriate' disparagement that kokugos are not picking up

I don't think it's correct to say there are two senses here.
"Slander", "libel", etc. are for the benefit of English learners who might be using そしり in more specific context.

I'm in favour of dropping the sense 2 glosses entirely.
I have a paper JE dictionary (designed for English speakers) on hand and "criticism", "censure" and "blame" are the only glosses listed. Same with prog.
